Today we head home for Calgary. We left Libby MO under overcast skies but it cleared up later and it looked like we were going to dodge the rain......NOT. We crossed back into Canada at Rooseville and decided to come back up Hwy 22 through Black Diamond because the the weather looked better. Unfortunately, it rained on us for a few hours from Hwy 22 to almost Calgary.
Total distance for the trip was about 5130 km over 9 days. This was a real whirlwind trip as we had to put on a lotta of day mileage to make it to northern California and back in 9 days.
Heading through Montana
At Roosville border crossing...still no rain.
Ominous dark skies up ahead.
Here comes the rain.

Day 8 - June 22, 2012
Today we rode from Clarkston WA to Libby MO. The forecasted rain never came; thank you Mother Nature. Nothing spectacular on the ride but we got into Libby by 3pm so we planned on something else to do. We went to a shooting range. Shot some skeets and then target shooting with hand guns. It was a lotta fun.
Spiral Highway in Clarkston, WA. Very twisty road.
Another Smalltown USA
Getting closer to the mountains
Got no idea what this is in Libby.
At the shooting range.

It was very impressive and a lot bigger than I thought it was. Then continued north to Madras and finally to The Dalles for the night. We had quite a variation in temperature from 12C on top of Crater Lake to a blistering 32C towards Hood River.
